4 Ups & 2 Downs From AEW Rampage (Aug 11)

Ups...

4. The Right Call

AEW Rampage Saraya Skye Blue
AEW

Saraya advancing to Wembley is a lot more logical.

Toni Storm is already there, so AEW is bound to book a bit of friction between members of The Outcasts. Further, the sad absence of Jamie Hayter from the card means Saraya scratches that "home town girl" itch - some UK participation was probably needed, and the ex-Paige softens that blow.

Don't be too despondent about Skye Blue tasting defeat here either. Her time will come, and she sparkled here against a high-profile worker. Special nights lie ahead of Skye, put it that way. Overall, she matched up well with Saraya, and that should be viewed as a positive sign for the future.

It was a bit dumb to put reigning champ Hikaru Shida in the tourney to establish contenders, and the tourney generally feels unnecessary, but this was a palatable main event for Rampage that got the job done it needed to.
