4 Ups & 2 Downs From AEW Rampage (Feb 9 - Results & Review)

1. Squashing Old Concerns

Squashes are normally more miss than hit on Rampage, but this one worked out nicely.

Matthew and Nicholas Jackson have ditched a lot of the flashy spots fans are used to, and are showing a grittier heel side. This writer has moaned and moaned about their style for long enough, so it'd be silly to ignore meaningful change. Yep, he's excited to see where this goes!

That isn't something this guy thought he'd be writing about The Young Bucks in 2024, but that's the beauty of pro wrestling. You just never know what's coming next. Here's hoping this current heel run for the brothers stretches beyond Sting's retirement match at Revolution though, because it'd be a shame if The Bucks reverted to type after that.

It's interesting to fire up X and see some pushback online, because this is honestly the most dangerous and compelling the Jacksons have been in a while. If they can continue down this path and keep the crowd-pleasing spots, spots, spots stuff to a minimum, then this villainous streak could redefine their AEW careers.
