4 Ups & 2 Downs From AEW Rampage: St. Patrick's Day Slam (Mar 17)

1. The Opener Had Everything You’d Want

Rey Fenix Powerhouse Hobbs

You only really need to see one match from this week's Rampage.

The opener was a hoot. Rey Fenix fighting from underneath worked, and Powerhouse Hobbs got that decisive win he needed to kick off a brand new TNT Title reign well. AEW also gave both guys plenty of time, so they could take things slow without rushing through a dizzying number of spots.

There was minimal involvement from QT Marshall and mates at ringside, which helped. QTV didn't try to interrupt the flow of the match much at all; they let Powerhouse show off his dominating strength, and stayed out the way when Fenix was flying around the place like Rey Mysterio in his prime.

AEW could have something here if they keep developing Fenix as a singles star. He'd be able to produce the goods vs. Hobbs at Double Or Nothing if Tony Khan gives him the chance. Brody King vs. Daniel Garcia is a match this fan never wants to see again, but Hobbs vs. Fenix very-much is one All Elite should run back someday.
