4 Ups & 2 Downs From Ultima Lucha Dos - Night 2

3. More Murder In The Temple

In WWE, when wrestlers disappear it’s usually because management has nothing for the talent anymore, and then releases them. In Lucha Underground when a wrestler disappears, it’s usually because they were murdered.

You probably either love or hate the killings in Lucha, but there’s little doubt that Dario Cueto is doing some masterful work in the segments. This season we saw Joey Ryan introduced as a cop, trying to infiltrate The Temple with his reluctant partner Cortez. They arrested Cortez’ former stable mate Mr. Cisco, and had him wear a wire to get dirt on Dario.

Cisco was unable to outsmart his boss, who caught onto his nervousness right away. He then bludgeoned him to death with his red bull statue, which is the same statue that Matanza used to murder their mother years earlier. Awesome.

This screen time probably would have been better used for Cueto to put over Pentagon vs. Matanza, but it was still a fun segment with a memorable end for Mr. Cisco.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
