4 Ups & 2 Downs From Ultima Lucha Dos - Night 2

2. One Hell Of A Finish

Article lead image

We often see big feuds finish in a pretty typical 50/50 type match in professional wrestling. The two wrestlers beat the hell out of each other, but for the most part, it could go either way. It usually comes down to whichever wrestler hits their finisher first. Not so in Mil Muertes vs. King Cuerno in a death match.

Cuerno was destroyed by his adversary, and very effectively so. The finish saw Muertes spear Cuerno through a table after jumping off the ring steps. That should have been it right there, but Muertes wanted to make a point. He picked up his opponent, and powerbombed him through a table. And then proceeded to do it twice more.

Pretty effective way to end a rivalry for good, and keep Muertes looking like one of the most fearsome wrestlers in the business.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
