1. Sexy Star Wins The Gift Of The Gods Championship

Sexy Star has had a great run in Lucha Underground. Her No Mas match with Mariposa was one of the best in the promotion this year, and helped her come across as one of the most badass wrestlers in the company. She’s improved in the ring, and finally came out on top in her feud with the creepy siblings of Marty The Moth and Mariposa.

The Gift of the Gods match paid off the storyline that began last year when Sexy Star was kidnapped by the brother and sister. They mentally broke her, and after escaping, she went on a journey to get her confidence, and life, back. At Ultima Lucha Dos, she ended her feud with her two rivals with an exclamation point after beating them both by herself.

Credit also goes to Matt Striker for his great job of calling her post-match celebration, by really putting her over as a wrestler, and as an inspiration for women and young girls. Things should only get even better for her moving forwards.
