4 Ups & 2 Downs From WWE SmackDown (9 Aug - Results & Review)

1. Roman Reigns Is Red Hot

Roman's return to TV was the real reason people tuned into SmackDown on Friday night, and WWE knew it. Reigns got a massive babyface reaction when he rolled out to spoil Solo's life at SummerSlam, and the live crowd's reaction here matched that one in Cleveland. People are right into this second babyface go-around for the 'OTC'.

On that note, Triple H will be delighted that fans chanted "OTC! OTC! OTC!" when Roman was cutting through Sikoa's Bloodline 2.0 troops. The comeback sensation demolished Solo's heavies, but WWE smartly kept some Reigns vs. Solo violence on reserve for later. Good, because this will be a PLE headliner at some point.

Again, it blows that Jacob Fatu is injured and can't be involved for now, but that's hardly WWE's fault. There's enough to Roman's majestic grand return to carry blue brand telly through until the end of the year, at least. The longer he and Jacob are kept apart, the better. What a showdown that'll be when it finally happens.

First up, Reigns elevating Solo just by being in the same ring as him.
