4 Ups & 3 Downs From AEW Rampage (Aug 13)

1. The Length

Sting Darby Allin
AEW

Words cannot fully describe just how good it is to have a top-tier one-hour pro wrestling show to watch every week. The two-hour format has become an industry norm, and nobody needs more three-hour slogs like WWE produces each and every Monday night. In contrast then, Rampage is a breath of fresh air.

It's a complement to Dynamite for those who want a tiny bit more, and that's all it should ever be. AEW cannot fall into the trap of thinking that "more is better". It bloody isn't, and they need only look over at the competition for proof. No, Rampage needs to stick with this 60-minute gig forever.

They accomplished a lot in that hour.

Christian Cage became IMPACT Champ, Miro looked like a monster, Britt Baker was the homecoming queen (at least during her entrance) and even the shadowy duo of Darby Allin and Sting got to look on from the rafters like this was 1996 and the show was called Nitro.

More of this simplicity, please.
