4 Ups & 3 Downs From AEW Rampage (March 1 - Results & Review)

Ups...

4. The Commentary Team

Tony Schiavone
AEW

Round of applause for these three gentleman, please.

Excalibur was absent for this week's Rampage, so Tony Schiavone steered the ship on play-by-play and was ably joined by Nigel McGuinness and Matt Menard. The latter has been a real breath of fresh air behind the desk recently, and McGuinness has excellent chemistry with Schiavone generally, so this was welcome.

The trio blended well. Menard and McGuinness played opposite sides of the babyface/heel divide, and Schiavone was the straight up voice of reason who kept things moving. These guys worked the three-man dynamic way better than most in pro wrestling, and they deserve credit for it.

Excalibur is perfect for All Elite's product, but it'd be nice if he was exclusively on Dynamite from now on. Each show really should have a unique feel to it, after all. Schiavone, McGuinness and Menard would be a solid choice for Rampage going forwards.
