4 Ups & 3 Downs From AEW Rampage (March 1 - Results & Review)

3. Second Half Picked Up

Claudio Castagnoli Rugido
AEW

Claudio Castagnoli vs. Rugido started real slow and looked like it could be a bit of a struggle, but both men picked the pace up for the second half and washed away earlier worries. Personally, this fan liked that Rugido didn't do endless flips for the sake of too. He picked his spots here or there, but worked Claudio's style of match for the most part.

Smart choice.

The match turned out to be more of a ground-based battle, albeit one laced with power moves and a few select dives/high spots. Castagnoli has to be one of the most dependable workers in modern pro wrestling - he's so reliable and steady that he makes anyone look good if he's handed enough time.

It's hard to care about any of this ongoing CMLL stuff, but you've got to call 'em how you see 'em and this was a decent watch. Again, Rugido worked a logical style that suited his opponent rather than going full on Vikingo and trying to spam more flips than your average gymnast.
