Downs...

3. “The Table Blocked Powerhouse Hobbs”

Excalibur might cringe when he listens to that commentary line back.

The masked man tried to seriously suggest that a routine table set up around ringside stopped Powerhouse Hobbs from finding his way back into the ring to break up Penta's pin on Aaron Solo. What? Is he scared of wood, or something? Actually, nobody answer that - it's defo one sub-plot 2023 doesn't need.

Seriously though, this was almost as daft as anything in "The Firm Deletion" skit to come. Excalibur made it sound like the table was balling up fists as part of some babyface turn, and threatening Hobbs to just f'n try it. That got a laugh from your writer, and he's not sure he was supposed to be laughing.

One of those pro wrasslin' magical forcefields kicked in here, and prevented one of the most powerful men on AEW's roster from getting back to the ring. Here's a suggestion: Hobbs could've walked around the table. Yeah, mind-blowing concept.
