4 Ups & 3 Downs From AEW Rampage (May 5)

2. Those Short Promos Again

These short promos are a winner.

Chris Jericho locked himself in a private dressing room and said he wouldn't do commentary on this week's Rampage because of Adam Cole. Later, Jeff Jarrett, Jay Lethal and gang tried to convince Mark Briscoe he should "do the right thing" by softening up FTR before Double Or Nothing.

Such promo inserts are short, sweet and a real credit to the Rampage booking sheets. This is something the company has been experimenting with over the past while, and it's paying dividends. It's 100% preferable to Excalibur winding himself by running through absolutely everything you'll see on Wednesday's Dynamite.

Jericho, in particular, knows how to squeeze the maximum out of mere seconds on-screen. Special mention to Lexy Nair for getting her facial expressions spot on when he was talking utter sh*te too. The backstage interviewer has come on leaps and bounds.
