4 Ups & 3 Downs From AEW Rampage (May 5)

1. MJF’s Bonus Anger

Rampage aired "bonus footage" of MJF losing it after coming backstage on Dynamite. The AEW World Champ was reacting to breaking news that he'll face Sammy Guevara, Darby Allin and Jack Perry in a four-way at Double Or Nothing, and he was literally foaming at the mouth over it.

Friday's show could use more content just like this.

MJF rarely appears on Rampage at all (not even in pre-tapes), so any sighting of him is welcome. Of course, that's unlikely to change once Collision launches next month. If anything, Rampage will be pushed down the pecking order and become more akin to Dark or Dark: Elevation when the new two-hour Saturday night broadcast debuts.

For now, it's nice to see some bonus shots of MJF going crazy. This is the kind of context Rampage could and should add to Dynamite's biggest story beats. It lasted mere seconds, but was on-screen long enough to catch Friedman turning into a rabid dog.
