4 Ups & 3 Downs From AEW Rampage (Nov 12)

3. Jungle Boy’s Snare Trap

Jungle Boy Bobby Fish Snare Trap

Credit to the commentary team for making sure to put over Bobby Fish's experience edge during his match with Jungle Boy. That one plot point painted JB as a real underdog (he's at his best in that role) and made Bobby look like even more of a grizzled veteran who'd been enlisted by the Superkliq to tear this Jungle to pieces.

The presentation was perfect in that opener.

It was even better that Jungle Boy got the win, and that he used his Snare Trap submission to get it. AEW really came through for JB here - they did his recent rise justice, and everything just clicked into place. Fish also did everything he could to make this Boy look like the man.

This is how Bobby should be used during his All Elite run. He's a fine gatekeeper for Adam Cole, and doesn't shed much credibility even when losing (so long as matches remain competitive). Rampage's opener was a lesson in how to retain cred but make your peer look like a star.
