4 Ups & 3 Downs From Last Night's WWE SmackDown (Oct 24)

2. Singh Gets Squashed

Paul Heyman brutally buried Jinder Mahal and the Singh Brothers on this week's Raw, and the trio weren't shy in responding last night, clapping back at 'The Advocate' with trademark mundaneness. It was a trite segment the likes of which have characterised 'The Maharaja's' woeful title reign, but it was saved when AJ Styles emerged from the back, ready to fight Sunil Singh.

Things didn't go well for Jinder and his henchman. Mahal was ejected from ringside after making too much of a fuss ahead of the contest. Both Singhs attempted to jump AJ, but 'The Phenomenal One' dispatched them with ease, locking Sunil in a Calf Crusher once Samir had been taken care of, which cemented a perfect squash victory in a shade over 30 seconds.

This was precisely how a match between one of the best wrestlers in the world and a glorified stunt dummy should go. Styles never once looked bothered by his opponent, and while there wasn't a whole lot to the squash, it was absolutely perfect. This is how you make a wrestler look dominant, not by having them needlessly take heat from a bottom-rung opponent, as WWE are currently doing with Asuka and Emma.
