3. Amale Finds Hope

Having Amale go over Xia Brookside was inarguably the greatest possible outcome here. WWE easily could have gone down the route of having Brookside get one over on ‘The French Hope’, as that is typically WWE booking at its finest.

Instead, they gave the French native her first WWE pinfall victory. Not only that, but she did so in reasonably impressive fashion, too.

The former wXw Women’s Champion methodically picked Brookside apart here. Amale wasn’t just looking to defeat Xia; she was looking to make a statement. If there’s anyone in NXT UK who needs to do such a thing, it’s Amale. She used the ringside surroundings to wear down Brookside, including carelessly sending Xia’s shoulder into the barricade. Nasty.

A neat Fisherman’s Spinebuster secured her a three count, following a short, ill-timed comeback from Xia. It’s unlikely this will lead to much more for Amale in NXT UK, considering it took her this long before she was finally given a win to her name, but she could very easily suffer the Pretty Deadly treatment, i.e. do f*ck all for years and then become a champion. Don’t bet on it, though. Solid match, anyway.
