3. Sloppy Men’s Triple Threat

Was the booking in the Men’s Money in the Bank briefcase supposed to reflect that WWE has already given up on Big Cass as a monster heel? Is the bloom completely off the rose for the recently returned superstar?

Cass battled Je’Von Evans and Austin Theory in what ultimately was a sloppy-at-times triple threat for the MITB match spot. They tried a few innovative spots, with a couple landing, but others fell apart when someone whiffed on a kick or missed a dive. Theory did hit an impressive Rack Bomb on Cass, but he didn’t even get to cover the seven-footer because Evans flew in with a frog splash.

The match was pretty inoffensive, but it also was immediately forgettable, with Evans even double-clutching on his second attempt at an OG Cutter, which kind of nullified the “out of nowhere” aspect of it when he hit – and pinned – Cass with the finisher.

Why would you beat Cass cleanly like this in only his second match back with WWE? It’s not like he had been softened up by Theory and Evans prior to this. It was pretty clean and just made it 50/50 between him and Je'Von when you had Theory right there.
