4 Ups & 3 Downs From WWE SmackDown (2 Aug - Results & Review)

Ups...

4. Let’s See Where This Union Goes

It's actually kinda refreshing that WWE kept the Women's Tag-Team Titles on Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn whilst also pushing Blair Davenport into the picture as a "new" ally. That was totally unexpected, so bonus points go to the writing staff for springing a surprise. Blair causing the DQ worked out well.

Jade Cargill and Bianca Belair are at a fork in the road right now. They'll either see off this bolstered Unholy Union to win the belts back, or they'll fail because Blair is devious. If it's the latter path, then Jade vs. Bianca is a lock for later in the year; WWE can't ride that to WrestleMania 41 unless they get another (longer) run with the titles.

Let's give this an 'Up' for the refreshing element.

Davenport, Dawn and Fyre do have history together on the UK independent scene and over in Japan. They know one another real well, and explained that during a bonus YouTube promo with Byron Saxton. Get that sort of context on telly and give them a fighting chance.

Promising start.
