4 Ups & 3 Downs From WWE SmackDown (4 July - Results & Review)

1. Hot Tag Action = Match Of The Night

Andrade and Rey Fenix could well be building something special together on Fridays.

Simply put, their match vs. Fraxiom was really, really good. At times, it was borderline 'SmackDown Six' stuff, and anyone who remembers those glory days from 2002 will know that's a huge compliment. Hunter and his creative types could do much worse than pre-packing at least one of these all-actions tag bouts onto coming 2-hour SmackDown for the rest of the summer.

Earlier, it was said that Andrade and Fenix teaming up vs. Nathan Frazer and Axiom was way more interesting than anything The Wyatt Sicks have going on. This writer would stand by that, because...what a match. It's looking like a smarter call by the week to shove Andrade and Rey together as one. Yep, seeing Fenix and Penta combine as The Lucha Bros would also be amazing, but WWE will almost certainly pull the trigger on that eventually.

For now, this gives both Fenix and 'El Idolo' something to do on SmackDown. Fraxiom likely enjoyed breaking free from the ongoing story with the Wyatts too, because this was the kind of fast-moving showcase they became known for down in NXT. Being able to bring that energy and vigour to the main WWE roster must be a blessing for the duo.

This was match of the night by a country mile. Fans were loud and into what was going on, the quartet actually working the thing seemed like they were having a ball from first moment to last, and the end result made a fresh new team look very strong.
