4 Ups & 3 Downs From WWE SmackDown (Dec 24)

2. Erm…Day 1?

Drew McIntyre Madcap Moss Claymore Kick

McIntyre vs. Moss is one of the undercard scraps booked for Day 1, so it made little sense to see Drew hammer Madcap with a Claymore Kick and score the win in that "fun-filled" headliner. Christ knows why WWE even booked that pay-per-view match in the first place, but yes.

The Claymore bump and pin did nothing to sell excitement, or even drama, for the Day 1 match. At this point, it wouldn't be a huge shocker if WWE pulled it from the card or put Happy Corbin in as Madcap's replacement. Does anybody really believe Moss has a hope in hell of beating McIntyre anyway? Come on now.

That's not happening, and it'd be a big mistake if it did.

The Corbin/Moss duo has been a weekly noose round SmackDown's neck since early on in the double act's run. They're a waste of airtime these days, and that hasn't changed even when they're jousting with top names like Drew.
