4 Ups & 3 Downs From WWE SmackDown (Dec 24)

1. How Did This Help Toni Storm?

Speaking of feuds that haven't helped fresh acts.

Toni Storm has been made to look second-rate, goofy and foolish throughout this entire rivalry with Charlotte Flair. Then, to top it all off, Charlotte just beat "2 Pies Toni" pretty soundly come SmackDown's big Women's Title match. Eek! Storm is no further forward, which means this run has been a waste.

Admittedly, parts of the match were good - Flair is great at letting opponents briefly turn the tables on her mid-match, and Toni has tried to show some of that in-ring fire that WWE's top brass don't seem too interested in. However, come the end, Storm looked like another victim of the relentless Charlotte push machine.

This writer isn't opposed to Flair at all. In fact, he likes her, but the truth is that she's running out of women to beat. WWE are gonna have a tough time finding her a new challenger in early-2022, that's for sure. Meanwhile, poor Toni seems destined to fall back down the pecking order.
