2. A Failed Experiment

Speaking of failed experiments.

Right, so GUNTHER vs. Madcap Moss wasn't a bad match by any means. Sadly, despite both guys trying their best, the live crowd just didn't care about it. WWE can't blame anyone for that, because they elevated a cold character (Moss) into the title scene against a dominating champ (GUNTHER) without warning.

People watching knew Madcap didn't have a hope in hell of taking the Intercontinental prize here, so folks kinda yawned their way through the early exchanges waiting for GUNTHER to put him down. That, dear reader, is precisely the kind of situation WWE hopes to avoid with Sami Zayn challenging Roman Reigns at Elimination Chamber.

Again, not bad, but definitely the kind of title bout nobody will remember one week from now. This wasn't on par with GUNTHER's prior defences vs. the likes of Sheamus, Rey Mysterio or even Shinsuke Nakamura. Back to the drawing board for ol' Madcap.
