4 Ups & 4 Downs For WWE Raw (27 Oct - Results & Review)

1. Women’s Tag Brings The Fireworks

Given the four wrestlers involved, fans shouldn’t have been surprised at the quality of Monday’s main event, but a Women’s Tag Team Championship match so rarely is a focal point of WWE programming that you’d be forgiven if you were stunned by Alexa Bliss and Charlotte Flair versus Lyra Valkyria and Bayley.

The tag champs had all they could handle from the Raw duo, with Bliss taking a good amount of punishment before tagging Flair, who ran wild (it’s still shocking to see Charlotte as a babyface hot tag in 2025) until things broke down with a series of false finishes leading to a double Natural Selection for the successful defense.

Everything clicked as well as could be expected here. WWE seemingly has quietly abandoned the Bayley “inner voices” story, with her split personality issue being seriously downplayed, and only Lyra’s mild distrust/hesitation being the lingering vestiges of that angle. Bayley’s fire-up spot near the end was a nice counter to Charlotte’s similar tag moments earlier, with both getting a great reaction. Valkyria looked every bit natural in there with three former world champions, a reminder that her best character work comes in the ring.

Post-match, the Kabuki Warriors attacked everyone – except Bayley – and fled, having staked their claim to the tag titles after warning both teams that they were coming for them. Given the focus on Asuka in recent weeks, this seems more like an inevitability than a possibility. At worst, it should provide more solid tag team action from the women’s division.

Strong close to Raw, with a very different main event than we’ve gotten the past several months after Vision overload. Maybe that should be a hint to WWE for future episodes.
