4 Ups & 4 Downs From AEW Rampage (Aug 4)

2. Another Solid Showing

Anna Jay Skye Blue
AEW

Skye Blue vs. Anna Jay was notable for two things.

Firstly, AEW fans really adore Skye. Second, Angelo Parker and Matt Menard cost Blue the match, which likely wouldn't be happening if Tony Khan wasn't high on her work. From a fan's perspective, zero problems - it won't hurt Skye to lose via interference, and the actual bout was fine.

The women's division round these parts has taken a bit of a beating on socials over the past while, but this was a respectable match. One thing you would say is that workers like Anna need way more in-ring reps if she's gonna improve. This was her first televised singles scrap since losing to Blue on the 23 June episode.

Two matches in a month and a bit won't cut it. The same goes for Blue, although she's clearly a bit further down the road in-ring than some of her contemporaries. Matches like this should be on Rampage every single week.
