4. The Bizarre But Fascinating Push Of Eva Marie

I struggled with this one, I really, really did. I flip-flopped for ages, deliberating whether Eva Marie's push despite an astonishingly negative reaction from the fans belonged at the top of the Downs pile or the bottom of the Ups. In the end, this is what I chose, because it's just so compellingly weird. Last night, as soon as Bayley was done seeing off Alexa Bliss, Eva's music hit and All Popularity Everything descended to the stage amid howls of derision from fans. Then she tried to cut a promo. Let's see how that went: https://youtu.be/w2-B2R2VsPg?t=115 Wow. Lynch mobs are more measured than that crowd. So why is it on the Ups part of the list? Well, isn't it just so fascinating? I haven't seen a crowd reaction this vocal in years. It's kind of amazing, and there's a despicable part of me that wants to see what happens if they put the belt on Eva Marie. It's schadenfreude at its worst, but you have to admit that you want to see how nuclear this heat can get. Also, I loved it when she called them "dorks". That was really funny. It's hard to tell which fans are buying into Eva's entitled botcher angle and are booing because that's servicing the story in an entertaining way, and which fans just hate her and want her to go away forever, and that blurred line is just so compelling. I'm looking forward to next week, what else can I say?
