3. So Much For The US Title “Haircut”
This United States Title feud is awful, let's talk about it.
Backstage, a concerned Trick Williams asked his irritating chum Lil Yachty if he knew what he was getting himself in for by agreeing to face Baron Corbin at Sunday Night's Main Event. Yachty said all he has to do is last 5 minutes, then Trick can get back the US Title. He walked away (to the gym, apparently), then Corbin cut a promo on Williams and said: “I don’t have to be entertaining, I’m the champ”.
Yeah, maybe not the best line there! Also, he held up the belt and it still has that goofy fur lining all over it. Didn’t Baron say it was getting “a haircut” recently? What happened to that? He looks so daft when carrying that furry, bespoke 'Trick Willy' title around the place, and even more so after saying he wanted to trim the white fur clean off. If that wasn't the plan, then don't mention it during promos. Simple as that.
There's pretty much nothing to get excited about with this rivalry. Williams is feeling less and less like a potential main eventer with every passing week, and the whole 'can Yachty last 5 minutes?!' deal is flat too. Finally, if WWE does choose to put the US gold back on Trick, then what was the point of anything he's been doing over the past couple of months with Baron?! This is content for the sake of content, and that's rarely a good thing.
End it ASAP.
