2. Another Plodder

Rey Fenix Talla Tonga

Rey Fenix vs. Talla Tonga seemed like an odd pairing on paper when the match was announced last week, and it didn’t work in execution. It was a weird decision to have Motor City Machine Guns and Shinsuke Nakamura take the rest of the MFTs out considering the story of the match was that Rey was outgunned by Talla anyway. Later, Sami Zayn ran in to help post-match.

Hmm. Where is this going? If Triple H thinks he can put this inside WarGames at Survivor Series, then he’s in for a rude awakening. Surely that isn’t the plan?! If that happens, then it could well be the least important WarGames match ever. Toss The Wyatt Sicks in there somewhere too and things could get ridiculous.

Throughout, there were several moments when you could hear Talla and Rey having full on conversations about spots before they happened, and it was just all really dull. This fan has zero desire to see these guys wrestle again. There were admittedly slight signs of life once Fenix started his unsuccessful comeback, but it wasn’t enough to rescue the match or make it worth going out of your way to see.

If you want to portray Talla as a monster, then he's going to need to start resembling one.

Fenix is another worker who is treading water in WWE. His entrance gets no pop, his matches have become background noise, he's been shunted into a few tag-teams for the sake of it, and now he's warring with MFT over...something nobody has cared to explain. It's all incredibly dull, which is shocking for somebody so dynamic between the ropes.
