OK, so Jimmy superkicking the sh*t out of Jey at SummerSlam and acting all stone cold killer heel doesn’t make much sense after his explanation on Friday, but it was probably the only route WWE could go here. They're clearly keeping powder dry for marquee matches to come, and are obviously keen to keep plundering this Bloodline stuff for as long as possible.

All things considered, Jimmy justified his actions fairly well during a potentially-awkward promo on SmackDown. He explained that he didn't want Jey to become 'Tribal Chief' and thus the second coming of Roman Reigns.

Side note: Having Roman laugh at that was smart too, because it acknowledged the sheer mindf*ckery of everything going on and didn't try to insult audience intelligence. This is the kind of thing that separates Bloodline biz from almost everything else on WWE TV.
