4 Ups & 5 Downs From AEW Dynamite (15 Feb - Review)
1. Another Great Week For MJF
For further evidence of MJF's brilliance, seek out the Fite feed of his appearance.
Cut from TBS, which went to commercial as he made his entrance, MJF threw his gum on a fan's face. He then feigned to take a selfie with another before throwing their phone to the ground. Then, after throwing a drink in someone's face, he called the lot of them fat pieces of sh*t and savaged the state of Texas for its antique abortion laws (while simultaneously wishing every child in the audience had undergone the procedure). When Dynamite returned from the break, he was showered with jeers.
In his televised promo, the thin-skinned, self-loathing supervillain from the CM Punk feud surfaced. He was better than Bryan Danielson, and paid off Christopher Daniels to make that "fact" a matter of public record. Daniels was having none of it; he put the money away, and in a great promo, put over the talent and man that Bryan is, and MJF could never be.
This infuriated MJF, who kicked him in the balls to summon the Dragon. MJF bailed - the last physical interaction should be saved, if it needs to happen at all - and the feud was advanced in a meaningful, heated way.
AEW has actually told a long-term story with MJF that has spanned almost four years, if we're counting now. MJF, and this is so effective, is such a piece of sh*t that the entire institution can't stand him. Tony Schiavone breaks his impartial role to bury MJF, Paul Turner allowed Cody to give him a cheap shot at Revolution, and now Daniels, Head of Talent Relations, sees right through him, too.
It all depicts MJF as the Big Bad of AEW.
