4 Ups & 5 Downs From AEW Dynamite (June 11)
4. Stupid Babyfaces Are Stupid
Right, how weak do AEW want Scorpio Sky and Ethan Page to look?
At Double Or Nothing, they jobbed for an aging veteran. That was fine, because Sting looked awesome, but the cocky pair then followed that by challenging Darby Allin to find a new partner for some more tag back-and-forth. This week, Darby said he wouldn't ditch the Stinger and replace him.
Nah, he'll just slap Sky and Page about in a two-on-one match. Wait, what? What was the point in Sting having Allin's back if he could just take it to the heels solo? Also, how does beating Darby in a handicap match get AEW's 'Men Of The Year' over in the slightest?
Wrestling babyfaces are brave souls, but they shouldn't be stupid. This recklessness from Darby is one thing, but Sting going along with it when he was the clear difference maker at Double Or Nothing is arse-to-elbow booking from Dynamite's creative nucleus.
