4 Ups & 5 Downs From AEW Rampage (Sept 2)

2. An Unnecessary Distraction

Ricky Starks
AEW

Christ knows why QT Marshall and The Factory have stolen some of the wind from Powerhouse Hobbs' sails recently. The fact they're even included in this rivalry between ex-Team Taz members at all is puzzling, but it's not the only misstep AEW has taken with Starks vs. Hobbs.

Rampage made it seem like QT is Ricky's main rival, not Powerhouse. Also, how in the name of heck did The Factory even get free from their dressing room after Starks locked them in there pre-match? That shouldn't have been booked if they were going to interfere anyway. Even the announcers were confused by that one.

Senseless storytelling.

Friday's main event was lame overall. Marshall's extended heel heat section was as boring as they come, and even Ricky's revenge fell short because of all the run-ins and the fact that Hobbs wasn't even out there for the finish. Y'know, the dude Starks is wrestling on pay-per-view.
