These ladies killed it.

Mark Henry's sit-down with Jade Cargill and Athena was intense, to-the-point and a better use of the 'World's Strongest Man' than those formulaic pre-main event promo skits. Kiera Hogan interjecting to call Athena "Number 37" (as in, the 37th victim of Jade's winning streak) was a giggle as well.

That line prompted Athena to get up out of her seat and into Cargill's face. Everyone played their roles well here, and Athena did come off as someone who could believably end Jade's run. Again, like the tag promo, this was the best possible build AEW could've penned for the TBS Title match.

It's meant as a compliment to say the end result is now totally up in the air. Keeping fans guessing is an old grappling booking trick, sure, but it's a damn effective one. Now, heading into Sunday, there are no guarantees that Cargill will walk out with her belt.

That's a win.
