The women's WarGames match's flaws have next to nothing to do with the performers themselves.

It's important to point this out, as while the bout was a big, messy shambles, the wrestlers entered strong performances. Ultimately, they were undone by whoever's clumsy hand put the damn thing together.

Though made to look incompetent, Shirai was a woman possessed once she got rolling. The trashcan dive was ridiculous, she took an insane bump for the finish, and she was fired up and energetic when allowed to be, particularly after finally getting into the cage. Elsewhere, Gonzalez looked like a destroyer, Ripley felt dangerous again, Blackheart was her usual untamed self, and Kai quietly posted one of the most impressive performances of her career. She was a dynamo.

Nobody in either WarGames match left anything in the tank. In the opening, the tortured howls and screams resonated as strongly as the big spots, and perhaps even more so in some cases. With a better layout, we may have been looking at an all-timer here.
