3. Characters Dominate The Triple Threat

Leon Ruff, Damian Priest, and Johnny Gargano worked a Triple Threat informed more by story and existing character dynamics than high spots and hot action, and benefitted because of it.

Gargano isolated Ruff as the weak link early on, focusing his assaults on the former EVOLVE man while keeping Priest as out of the way as possible. Priest, meanwhile, treated Ruff as if he were a bug on his windshield. His goal was to tear Gargano to pieces, so he became progressively annoyed with the North American Champion's gumption throughout - and Ruff isn't one to be put in the corner. He kept stepping to Priest, looking to prove himself worthy of being in the ring with the big man and Gargano.

This earned him a Razor's Edge through the barricade.

Selling regret, Priest gave Johnny a way back into the match, but eventually fought a horde of Ghostfaces off, thwarted Ruff's comeback, and looked to have victory secured. Cue: Austin Theory as the final Scream, a lead pipe to Priest, and One Last Beat on Ruff for Gargano's victory.

This was a fun, fluid, and well laid-out match from start to finish, and keeps another Gargano vs. Priest singles match on the table as well, as Damian wasn't involved in the finish. Here's hoping this is the end of the Ghostface stuff, though.
