4 Ups & 5 Downs From WWE SmackDown (20 Sept - Results & Review)

3. A PLE Quality Opener

Andrade LA Knight
WWE.com

Nothing was going to touch obvious match of the night LA Knight vs. Andrade. Together, both guys worked a high-quality United States Title battle that wouldn't have looked out of place on PLE. It was another reminder of what Knight is capable of as champion, and why it was the right move to have him supplant Logan Paul.

One of the best things about Knight is that he doesn't swallow challengers whole. In fact, he gives them a lot, and that'll come in handy if and when WWE fancies using his star power to build some fresh names who'll carry the brand for years (*cough* Carmelo Hayes *cough*). LA is real giving as a champ, put it that way.

Andrade brought it, but keeping the belt exactly where it is makes sense. You'd do well to see a better match than this on wrestling telly across the week. That's high praise, especially when standards are high and it's the norm to see crackers on Raw, NXT and Dynamite.

Top work.
