4 Ups & 5 Downs From WWE SmackDown (20 Sept - Results & Review)
2. KO Never Gets To Vent
Kevin Owens never actually got to properly respond to the cinematic sequence that saw Cody Rhodes embrace the idea of going after The Bloodline 2.0 with...The Bloodline 1.0's old boss, Roman Reigns. Rhodes agreed to trust Roman as an ally in the short-term, which could've had KO pulling his hair out.
SmackDown's closing sprint saw Kev tease bashing Cody with a steel chair again. He put the weapon down, then the pair shared a frostier-than-usual hug instead. You've got to love the slow burn vibes of this Owens turn - he's a real and conflicted human being, and that elevates Kevin's character above many others on the roster.
It also makes him ideal for situations/stories like this.
This week's show went off the air with Michael Cole questioning whether or not Owens would approve of Cody trusting Reigns. Probably not, but keeping that on tap for coming weeks is smart. Now, KO's frustration gets to simmer, then boil over when the time is right.
