4 Ups & 5 Downs From WWE SmackDown (June 17)

1. Riddle Hangs With Roman

Riddle looked like he belonged in there with Roman Reigns.

That's a huge compliment, and again shows how far he's come since WWE threatened to turn him into 'Mr. Frostbite' a few years back. Despite knowing fine well that Riddle wasn't winning here, this fan still got suckered in when he hit Reigns with an RKO and went for the pin.

That near fall tricked the live crowd too. They thought, even just for the tiniest second, that Riddle was about to win and set up a sequel against Roman come Money In The Bank or SummerSlam. Not quite, but this was still a must-see main event. It was a total gem of a match.

The mid-air spear finish was bad ass, and the way Reigns let Riddle overwhelm him with some strikes before cutting him down was notable too. If this one doesn't grace 'Best Of 2022' lists by the end of the year, then there's no justice in this biz.
