4 Ups & 5 Downs From WWE SmackDown (Oct 9)

Christ, that 'Falls Count Anywhere' match was brutal.

Sheamus and Big E laid it in with kendo stick shots and meaty big bumps, and both guys were left bloodied by the end (Sheamus' arms and back, in particular, were an absolute state). If WWE wanted to make E look like someone who could stand on his own two feet and fight off rugged heels, then they achieved that goal.

He won without help from his returning New Day brothers, which was the right call. E would've looked weak had he relied on interference from Kofi and Xavier to get the job done, and it was shrewd to leave that happy reunion until after this brawl.

If you fancy seeing two big lads beat the hell out of one another without leaning on cinematic tropes, then this could be the match for you. Honestly, it's the kind of fare any wrestling fan can enjoy. No frills, lots of physicality and the correct finish.
