TLC matches are not designed for psychology or methodical pacing. They are usually chaotic frenzies of action, with bodies flying through tables, racing up ladders, and being yanked back down to Earth.

SummerSlam’s six-team TLC match started off looking like it was crowded with too many wrestlers, but the match eventually settled into a good rhythm, with everyone getting opportunities to shine. The Street Profits, Fraxiom, and Andrade and Rey Fenix in particular looked strong throughout, with Fenix coming an eyelash away from winning the match in the early going without a ladder (Rey stood on Andrade’s shoulders and lunged for the titles).

Everyone’s seconds and stablemates got involved (ala TLC at WrestleMania X-Seven), with Candice LeRae, B-Fab, and Nikki Cross having their own exchange while all 12 men were down from everyone going through tables. This would lead to Candice climbing the ladder to try to retrieve the titles for DIY, only to be inadvertently knocked to the floor and through a ladder bridge.

The highlight of the match came when Tommaso Ciampa found himself hanging from the title hanger when the ladder was pulled away. Nathan Fraser went to do his best Edge impersonation and tried to spear Ciampa from the ladder, but Tommaso curled himself up to avoid the spear.

All told, this was a fun car crash of a match, not on the level of the classic TLC matches, but certainly not slacking in the chaos department.
