4 Ups & 5 Downs From WWE Superstar Spectacle

WWE Superstar Spectacle Commentary

WWE commentators like Michael Cole and Corey Graves take a lot of sh*t for the way they present pro wrestling. Vinnie Mac's infamous addiction to pronouns and buzzwords means they rarely speak like real human beings, and that doesn't sit well with those who prefer a more conversational style on comms.

Hindi rep Shahroz Ali's performance shows how challenging WWE's style is.

Ali barely contributed anything to Superstar Spectacle. In fact, when Cole or Graves tried to get him involved, the third-wheeling announcer stumbled over his stories; it was clear he was nervous, and that English isn't his first language, but this was a missed opportunity for Shahroz to show what he can do.

Cole had to re-tell some of Ali's contextual background stories to hammer them home, which isn't great. It also became obvious two or three matches in that the SmackDown pair could've done without such hand-holding. Maybe they, and WWE's style as a whole, deserve(s) more respect.
