4 Ups & 5 Downs From WWE Superstar Spectacle

3. Shinsuke Nakamura?

The resurgence of Shinsuke Nakamura as a WWE singles force could be one of the best stories during the first quarter of 2021. On SmackDown, Naka has been slowly teasing a babyface turn. The writers even scripted some frosty interactions between and regular partner Cesaro recently.

Where was that tension here?

Shinsuke and Cesaro bumped fists before working the eight-man tag alongside Dolph Ziggler and 'King' Corbin against Rey Mysterio, Ricochet, Giant Zanjeer and Dilsher Shanky. There was no sign of Nakamura's prior break out from badness, nor any hint of contrition when he was double-teaming faces.

No, Shin hasn't turned full-blown yet, but WWE missed a trick here. Nakamura and Cesaro failing to get along would've been an easy spot to weave into the tag. It wouldn't have taken attention off Zanjeer or Shanky either.
