4 Ups & 6 Downs From WWE Raw (29 Jun - Results & Review)

1. Rollins And Reigns, Modern-Day Gunslingers

To hear Seth Rollins tell the story, he and Roman Reigns are two grizzled veterans (at 40 and 41, respectively) on the downslope of their careers, former disruptors who are about to be replaced by the next generation of young lions. (This also means that Damian Priest, LA Knight, Chad Gable, Jey Uso, Drew McIntyre, Finn Balor, Sami Zayn, Cody Rhodes, and a bunch of others are aging out as well.)

Rollins interrupted Roman Monday night to challenge the OTC for the World Heavyweight Championship, dangling the notion that Reigns has never beaten him (fun fact: Roman did indeed defeat Seth on a 2017 Raw) as a legacy-building moment for him. (Seth tied in a bunch of history, and we’ll actually highlight the positives to this later.)

But really? Shield lore? In 2026? That’s what we’re falling back on for a world title feud for (presumably) the main event of one of the Big Four PLEs? Rollins’ 2026 has consisted of being injured, losing to Gunther at WrestleMania 42, and then winning a feud against Bron Breakker 2-1. That’s it.

Even Roman rightly dismissed him… only to walk it back 10 minutes later after Rollins calmly reminded him of their won-loss record against each other and a history they both know inside and out. But Roman saying “I need to beat you” minutes after scoffing at the very idea of a match and telling Seth “back of the line” was a comical 180-degree turn with minimal effort.
