4 Ups & 6 Downs From WWE Raw (Nov 9)
2. Lana: Persona Non Grata

Can someone on the inside definitely tell us whether Lana is being punished, or if this is part of some brilliant, long-term storytelling? (Or at least an attempt at long-term storytelling.)
For the past two months, Lana has repeatedly been put through a table by Nia Jax. The situations are sometimes creative in how they get to that point, but lately, it’s become a running joke, with Lana almost resigned to her fate of getting beat up by the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions and then hoisted across Jax’s shoulders and dropped through the announce desk.
On Monday, however, she was beaten down even more so, first dominated by Shayna Baszler in their match (rightly so), but spared the table by Mandy Rose & Dana Brooke. Then later, she was part of a brawl after the Asuka/Nia match broke down. Of course, Lana, Jax and Baszler were the last three standing, and after a pathetic attempt to fight back, Lana went through the table for the eighth time.
If this is actually leading somewhere, then we’ll give some serious credit to WWE. But if this is just a sick joke from the front office – and seeing how Lana just looks ridiculously pathetic each week with no redemption whatsoever, it’s possible – then it’s further proof that this company is just the worst.
