4 Ups & 6 Downs From WWE SmackDown (April 22)

1. Did…Did They Change Plans?

Roman Reigns

Questions must be asked about where Reigns is even going. WrestleMania Backlash is another two episodes of SmackDown TV away, and yet Roman doesn't have a challenger pencilled in for the pay-per-view. It looked like WWE were going with Shinsuke Nakamura, but they've seemingly cancelled those plans.

Shin was one of the 'Lumberjacks' this week, and wasn't even on telly last time out.

What was the point of even writing a staredown with Reigns if creative weren't going to follow up? No, it's not like Nakamura was a tippy-top challenger for the Undisputed belt, but WWE thrust him into that spot suddenly. The least they could do was have the decency to go through with it.

Roman is in limbo. If recent reports about him headlining 'Mania Backlash are to be believed, then WWE best get the finger out and line up a challenger pronto. Drew McIntyre is one option, but he's been p*ssing around in nothing feuds with Happy Corbin and Sami Zayn.

This is not good, people.
