4 Ups & 7 Downs From WWE Raw (June 6)

Downs…

7. This Doesn’t Make Sense

The Judgment Day

OK, so we’re going to give this a “down” this week, but really, that’s only because it’s really, really difficult to rate Edge being drummed out of The Judgment Day one day after the trio won a mixed tag match.

The group supposedly was welcoming a fourth member to the fold, and Finn Balor answered the call, which in itself was strange since he was the one pinned at Hell in a Cell. But then Damian Priest talked about shedding their last limitation, which he identified as Edge himself. This led to a 3-on-1 beatdown that saw Priest hit a Razor’s Edge and Con-chairto to put the Rated-R Superstar down.

On the positive side, Edge’s promos as the leader of Judgment Day weren’t working. They were bad comedy. But he definitely was giving Rhea Ripley and Priest a bigger platform than they had been getting. Balor’s platform probably isn’t going to be as big – he’s never been more than a mid-carder in Vince McMahon’s eyes. And Judgment Day wasn’t really around that long, nor was there any redeeming qualities of any of these characters, so it wasn’t like there was someone to cheer here.

Now, this could end up being an overall plus, switching up the membership of Judgment Day. But the group has been so uneven since it’s formation that it’s tough to give them the benefit of the doubt until they actually earn it. So for now, this is no buys.
