4 Ups & 7 Downs From WWE Raw (March 14)

3. Paying Tribute To The Bad Guy

Scott Hall RIP

As fans by now know, Scott Hall passed away Monday, leaving a very raw wound as WWE went on the air that night. But some superstars found ways to pay homage to The Bad Guy during Raw.

Kevin Owens opened the show with Hall’s signature “Hey, yo.” He later paraphrased his 2014 Hall of Fame induction speech, saying, “Tough times don’t last, but tough guys do” to Seth Rollins backstage.

Damian Priest, who was a huge fan of Hall, referred to himself as “the bad guy” in recent promos and carries himself like Hall, did a little surfing action on the way to the ring and nailed a Razor’s Edge to Finn Balor during their match.

Later on, Owens would hit Rollins with a fallaway slam into the barricade, which isn’t in his normal repertoire.

And of course, WWE aired a video package that was well done. For only having a day or so to prepare for this possibility, WWE did a nice job. It would be surprising if they did a bit more on SmackDown on Friday, possibly with interviews with Kevin Nash, Shawn Michaels and others.
