4 Ups & 7 Downs From WWE SmackDown (Aug 7)

6. Ill-Placed Hokey Comedy

When yours truly was a boy, he'd write his own storylines. Often, they degenerated into hammy comedy when he ran out of ideas, and it ended up ruining the flow of those otherwise genius (honest...) angles that once seemed to promising.

That's what happened on SmackDown.

The Miz and John Morrison ripped the p*ss out of Mandy Rose for losing some hair on last week's episode, and then asked Sonya Deville to explain her actions. This would've been fine had they not come across as the goofy hosts from old-school UK children's TV show 'Dick & Dom In 'Da Bungalow' as they did it.

Comedy has a place in pro wrestling, obviously, but this feud between Sonya and Mandy has no room for Miz and Morrison's sophomoric silliness. WWE need to quit shoving their asinine nonsense into the best rivalries on the brand.
