4 Ups & 7 Downs From WWE WrestleMania 41 - Night 1 (Results & Review)

2. YEET!

WWE WrestleMania 41 Night 1 Jimmy Uso Jey Uso
WWE

Despite the criticism leveled against the World Heavyweight Championship match, there’s no denying that Jey Uso winning the title was a huge moment that felt like the right call, striking while the iron was still hot.

Uso’s shelf life as a top babyface is unknown - we could wake up one morning to find out that fans no longer “yeet” along with him - but right now, he’s over like rover, so belting him up is a smart move.

Jey’s entrance through the crowd in a stadium took a lot longer than his traditional arena entrance, but fans remained up for it the entire time, and they stayed in Uso’s corner throughout the entire match. After struggling in Roman Reigns’ shadow, falling short in previous efforts - he was 0-6 in world championship matches heading into Saturday - and dealing with Gunther tormenting him and his family, Jey needed the win.

Big ups to Uso on this win, and here’s hoping WWE books his title reign smartly, playing to his strengths.
