4 Ups & 8 Downs From AEW All Out 2020

3. The Wrong Decision

AEW's female division hasn't been a rip-roaring success since the company launched.

There's a blandness to the scene that's hard to overlook, and it's hardly like Hikaru Shida (good worker though she is) is the most engaging of personalities. By comparison, NWA Champ Thunder Rosa has a bit of sparkle to her performances and would be a fine focal point to build the division around.

Yours truly was hoping that AEW would see that and make the change at All Out. They didn't, and this female flop of a division moves on without any signs things will get better. Who does Shida have to work with now? There's almost nobody of any interest on the horizon.

That's a huge problem, and it's one AEW top brass don't seem keen to fix. Until they do, their women's division will continue to be an afterthought that's only good for the odd midcard distraction on pay-per-views. That's not enough.
