4 Ups & 8 Downs From AEW All Out 2020

4. The Commentary

The guy writing this LOVES Jim Ross and Tony Schiavone. He really does. They're legends in the announcing game and do have something to offer pro wrestling in 2020. The problem is that neither seems like a good fit for AEW's product.

There were several occasions when it seemed like JR and Tony were trolling the show or missing the point completely. That left Excalibur in a tough spot, because he had to try and drag the commentary back towards the actual story being told. In fairness to Jim and Tony, announcing AEW cannot be easy sometimes.

JR is 100% right when he calls out workers for showboating instead of going for a pin, and he's not wrong when he says Matt Cardona is "missing something". The issue with that sort of thing is that it makes the ex-Zack Ryder look like someone who's only in AEW because he failed in WWE.

Damn, it hurts to criticise these icons.
